I am honored to serve as the principal of Kings Creek School and am thrilled to be a Viking!

I was born and raised in Maryville, Tennessee, where I attended two K-8 public schools and developed a love for learning.  I graduated from William Blount High School in 1988 and went on to the University of Tennessee (Go Big Orange!) where I majored in history and elementary education while also gaining valuable experience working in variety of educational settings including wraparound childcare and Tennessee School for the Deaf.  Immediately after graduating, I accepted a teaching position with Clinton City Schools and taught there for 8 years before my wife, three children, and I decided to move to North Carolina to begin my career in school administration.  Since moving to North Carolina, I have worked at the elementary, middle, and high school levels and have worked in Cabarrus County, Burke County, and then Caldwell County in 2010.  I served as the principal of Baton Elementary School for 14 years and was named the principal of Kings Creek School beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.

I believe that teaching and learning should be fun and engaging and should inspire students to want more for themselves and for the world around us.  Make no mistake, we will work hard to achieve this, but we will also enlist the support of our students’ families and our community to come alongside us to provide the best possible learning experience for our students.

I hope you’ll join us for this Viking voyage into the great unknown.  Adventure awaits!
